Hospitality Job Opportunities Available as Cleveland Prepares for 2021 NFL Draft and Beyond

Tourism and Hospitality Industries Look to Rebound from Impact of COVID-19

CLEVELAND, Ohio, April 20, 2021 – National Football League’s 2021 NFL Draft, to be held in Cleveland from April 29 to May 1, provides the latest opportunity to not only showcase Greater Cleveland to the world but provide a further boost to the local hospitality industry.

Downtown Cleveland businesses are gearing up to take advantage and the Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP), in conjunction with Downtown Cleveland Alliance (DCA), has created a dedicated page - www.gcpingear.com/gearing-up-nfl-draft - for the purpose of connecting job seekers with open positions in the hospitality industry.

“The NFL Draft represents a great opportunity to spur the rebound of the local hospitality industry,” said Deb Janik, Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Business Development at GCP. “Many of our Downtown employers have positions open and are looking to hire. With the draft approaching, we want to leverage our existing INGEAR web platform and help them get staffed up.”

While the impact of the NFL Draft should not be overlooked, there are many other reasons that Downtown restaurants and hotels are hiring. With vaccination rates rising, office workers are beginning to return Downtown. The Cleveland Indians season is underway, the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland has begun to hold on-site events, and venues such as Music Box Supper Club and Playhouse Square theatres will be reopening and welcoming locals and visitors to live events in the coming months.

“Activity in Cleveland and Downtown is coming back, and employers are ramping up,” said Michael Deemer, DCA’s Executive Vice President of Business Development and Legal Services. “There are more than 140 business open Downtown and ready for patrons to enjoy the amenities of the city center that they have come to know and love.”

Job-seekers that would like to see a list of employers that are hiring can go to www.gcpingear.com/gearing-up-nfl-draft and be directed to online applications. No registration on the part of job-seekers is necessary.

All Greater Cleveland businesses that would like to feature their open positions on GCP INGEAR, can go to https://www.gcpingear.com/employers-now-hiring-form and submit the information on a simple online form.
