When Akil Hameed made his first real estate investment to supplement his income in 2003, little did he know that he would eventually establish FASS Real Estate Services (FASS), managing over $80.0 million in real estate consisting of over 350 scattered site residential and commercial properties in Northeast Ohio.
At FASS, Hameed directs a team of over 20 Brokers to develop and implement marketing strategies that expand awareness and recognition of the company and its many products and services into the community. His goal is to democratize homeownership and bring equity and inclusion in commercial real estate.
“My mission is to bring awareness and create avenues for minorities into real estate. I’m focused on equity, inclusion and helping build generational wealth.”
~ Akil Hameed, FASS Real Estate Services
With his vast experience, Hameed helps small businesses think through their development and access to capital, specifically the steps needed to start working with banks. While he works with businesses of all sizes, his sweet spot is businesses with 1-20 employees, seeking 1,000 – 15,000 square feet.
Hameed began providing Receivership Property Management Services in 2015 to the banking institutions, working with CBRE on a Joint venture project. As of July 2020, FASS Real Estate Services has served over 250,000 sq ft of receivership orders in Northeast Ohio. Hameed has worked with Union Miles, Burton Bell Carr Development, and Westown Development to provide Development and Real Estate Consulting Services to improve their communities.
Hameed frequently utilizes GCP’s Site Selection services to meet the needs of his business and his clients. Vince Adamus, Vice President of Business Growth & Development Services at the Greater Cleveland Partnership has known Hameed and worked with him for several years as part of GCP's Site Selection services.
"I got to know Akil as we both pursued our interest in improving minority participation in the real estate industry through the REAP program. REAP is a nationwide program with regional efforts, in our case organized through professional trade groups NAIOP and AIA. Akil is a role model for young professionals seeking to expand their horizons and we got along very well because of our common interest."
