Cuyahoga County voters, voting by absentee ballot, backed a proposed 4.7-mill tax to raise funding for health and human services programs.
The tax will replace a 3.9 mill tax that is one of two the county uses to raise about $244 million a year for social service programs.
The new tax, with the additional millage, is expected to raise an additional $35 million a year.
